William Yoder

March 5, 1921 — August 29, 2018

William Archie Yoder (Uncle Bill) passed away peacefully August 29, 2018 at the age of 97. He was surrounded by the love of his family. He resided in Albright Shores and Beaverton area for the last 50 years, previously he lived in Midland.

B ill was a World War II hero. He served courageously where he earned the Bronze Star and Purple Heart among several other awards. He was a loving man, a supportive man, a kind man. His love for his nieces and nephews was undeniable. He loved to attend the sports they played and had no problem yelling at the referees/umpires. He was a true Detroit Tigers & Detroit Lions fan. It was rare to see him without his dusty Detroit Tigers hat upon his head.

He is survived by nephews: Dennis (Mary) Haney of Midland, Larry (Marcia) Haney of Naubinway, MI. Many nephews, nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Vivian Yoder, sisters: Margaret McCommbs, Violet Babe Richards, Ida Haney; brothers: Charles Yoder, Clarence Yoder, George Root & Earl Root; nephew: Gary Haney and great nephew Chad Haney.

Bill was an outdoorsman and shared his love of fishing and hunting with his family. We will miss his laugh, a whole body laugh that would often bring him to tears and made everyone smile. We will miss you, Uncle Bill. Thank you for sharing life with us and Go In Peace.
