William J. Volders, age 89, of Gladwin, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. He was born on May 6, 1935, the son of William and Adeline (Bladecki) Volders, in Bay City. On February 8, 1958, William married the love of his life, Beverly Lambert. Together, they shared 67 years filled with love and cherished memories.
William was a dedicated employee of General Motors, working in the Delco Moraine Division as a machine repairman until his retirement. He was a 3rd Degree and Lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, later achieving 4th Degree status. He was also an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
An avid outdoorsman, William enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing. He was a passionate supporter of Detroit sports, always cheering on his favorite teams.
He is survived by his beloved wife: Beverly; children: Pamela (John) Sowinski, Connie (Larry) Gerard, Ronald (Jane) Volders, Michelle (Richard) Julien, and Randall Volders; grandchildren: Ashley, Heather, Kristen, Jason, Bryan, Lauren, Jorden, Kara, and Jared; 10 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way; sisters: Donna Belonga and Brenda Brandenburg; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Adeline; sister: Nancy Lowe; and brother: Donald Volders.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 12:00 noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 3:00-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin. William will be laid to rest at Floral Gardens Cemetery in Bay City.
