Willard Keith Knoertzer, 84, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Mid Michigan Medical Center, Midland, Michigan. He was born on September 2, 1933, the son of Lawrence & Marjorie (King) Knoertzer. He was born and raised in Wheeler, Michigan. He graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1952. Soon after he served his country in during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army in the 101st Airborne Division. He married Barbara Smith in 1956. She preceded him in death in 2013. Together they had 5 children. He was a great provider for his family. He spent most of his life at Brown Machine in Beaverton, and was a part time jack of all trades as a well driller, carpenter, electrician, mason, and plumber. He also loved deer hunting and sports. He was a windmill softball pitcher and a race care driver, affectionately know as Cowboy Willie. He will be deeply missed by his son: Michael (Lori) Knoertzer of Gladwin; daughters: Julie (Joe) Pagano & Lori (Stewert) Hitchcock both of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother: Leroy (Jackie) Knoertzer of Gladwin. His children blessed him with 8 grandchildren & several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife; parents; 2 sons: Timothy & Kerry; 1 brother: Donald. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor David Amstutz on Thursday, April 19, 2018, 1:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, from 7-9:00 P.M. and on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Highland Cemetery, Gladwin, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made according to the First United Methodist Church, Gladwin , Michigan.
