Wesley Frick

Wesley Roy Frick, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024. He was born on October 20, 1933, in Ortonville, Michigan, the son of Ellis and Effie (Bennett) Frick.

Wesley served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Army during the Korean War. On March 13, 1954, he married, Shirley R. Castle. Together, they shared 70 wonderful years of marriage, building a lifetime of cherished memories.

Following his military service, Wesley worked for General Motors in Pontiac until his retirement in 1983. He then moved to Gladwin, where he dedicated his life to the Masonic Lodge. Wesley was a proud member of several lodges, including Roosevelt Lodge 510 in Pontiac, Beaverton Lodge 453, and Warren Lodge 427 in Coleman. He was honored as an Honorary Member at several lodges throughout the state and served admirably for over 20 years as a District Deputy Instructor for the local district.

In his younger years, Wesley enjoyed bowling and playing baseball, always cheering on his beloved Detroit Tigers. He was a skilled craftsman, particularly talented in woodworking, and could often be found in his workshop.

Wesley is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Frick, and their children: Jonathan Frick, Jill (Jim) George, Jodee (Tom Sr.) Betts, Joel Frick, Johanna Tuttle, Justine (David) Leese, and Jannel (Jeff) Carrier. He will be deeply missed by his numerous grandchildren: Jennifer, Jerrilyn, James, Tommy, Michael, Amanda, Jessica, Miranda, Sara, Darrel, Jamie, Stephanie, Heather, Krystal, Jeff Jr., Jandy, and Jeanie.and siblings: Larry (Sue) Frick, Maxine Barton, Ron (Shirley) Frick, and Judy Lily.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Effie Frick, their sons Jonathan and JLF (Stillborn), son-in-law Dean Tuttle, and siblings Allan, Robert, Frankie, Glen, Karen, and Arlene.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate Wesley's remarkable life will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 4:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin. Visitation will take place from 12:00 noon until the time of service. He will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
