Wanda Marie (Parker) Atwater, age 80, of Beaverton passed away with family by her side, on Friday, August 4, 2017. She was born June 14, 1937 to Bessie and Al Parker of Midland, Michigan. On August 25, 1956, Wanda married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Atwater of Bay City, who survives her. She is also survived by their four daughters, Connie (Quincy) McCullough, Sue Atwater, Jeannette (Raymond) Ruediger, and Sherry (Mike) Spence. She is also survived by grandchildren, Len (Jenn) Schmidt, Brandi (Dan) Petras, Jeremy (Gloriane) Schmidt, Josh (Ashley) Constantino and Bryan (Megan) Ruediger. She is survived by five great grandchildren, and her beloved little dog, Solomon. Her brother and sister also survive her, Fred Parker, and Carol (Tom) Glenn, as well as sister and brothers in-law; Doris Bryant, Tom (Mary) Atwater, and Clifford (Isabelle) Atwater, as well as many nieces and nephews. Wanda was welcomed home to heaven by her loving parents, and brother, Milton Parker. Wanda was a faithful member of the Beaverton Church of the Nazarene, where she served in many capacities, most recently leading the senior group. She was passionate about her family, and especially proud of her grandchildren. She was a life-long camper, who loved the outdoors and travel. She loved painting and woodworking with Bob. Wanda was always willing to prepare a meal and was “mom” to anyone who needed a hug, or a shoulder to lean on. The family would also like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to Dr. Jones, Scott, Ilene and the entire team for their loving care. She is greatly missed by her dear husband, family and friends. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Jacob Salem on Thursday, August 10, 2017, 11:00 A.M. with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Beaverton Church of the Nazarene, Beaverton, Michigan.
