Thomas Vorachek

Thomas Michael Vorachek, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, from a long battle with cancer. He was born in Flint, Michigan on October 11, 1952, the son of Albert (Zeke) and Betty Gagnon Vorachek. Tom went to Hamady School in Flint graduating in 1971. He loved racing motor cycles in competition in his younger years. He was employed at AC Spark Plug in Flint and retired from General Motors Shreveport after 30 years of service. He spent most of his retirement in the winter at Lake Okeechobee in Florida. During the summer months he came back to the UP and lower Michigan to spend time with his family and friends. He was an ardent fisherman and hunter which he was very good at.

He is survived by his mother: Betty Vorachek; sister: Gail Schloegl; brother: Scott (Alberta) Vorachek; four nieces: Summer (Rob) Smith, Stacey (Darryll) Mosarosh, Savanah (Alec) Gary, Rashell Vorachek; 5 great nieces and 1 great nephew: Paige, Jenna, Sarah, Morgan, River, and Little Zeke. His is also survived by a step daughter: Erica and grandchildren: Kail, Karlee, Katelyn, Kristin and one great grandchild on the way.

Tom was preceded in death by his father: Albert (Zeke) on September 2, 2019.
