Thomas "Jim" Mathews

Thomas James “Jim” Mathews, 81 of Beaverton, passed away peacefully at home December 2 nd , 2020.

Jim proudly served his community for over 50 years as a Firefighter and First Responder for the Beaverton Area Fire Department. He was an avid bowler for many years and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Jim, a retired Teamster, enjoyed his daily rides with his pups Rex and Max, and he was always up for a beer and a visit.

Surviving Jim is his wife Terry, children Dawn and Joe Lancaster, Dean and Robin Mathews, Laura and Jimmy Walt ers, and Dave Rickord and Joni Bullard all of Beaverton.

Grandchildren, James and Kandi Brown; Justin, Tommy, Apri l Spencer and her fiancé Levi Tenwalde ; Todd and Desiree Mathews;  Brent Mathews; Katie and Treven Walters; and Gavin and Gabe Rickord, as well as several great-grandchildren.

Also surviving Jim are his sisters and their spouses, Mary and Ed English and Deb and Roy Kinkela of Gladwin.

Jim was predeceased by his parents; Tom and Beulah Mathews; son David Mathews and grandchildren Aid en Brown and Jason Walters.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the Beaverton Area Fire Department.
