Thelma “Jean” Hoskinson, 89, of Gladwin, peacefully passed into the loving presence of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 25, 2018, at her home in The Brook. She was born in Gladwin on November 23, 1929, to Ota F. and Emma (Hull) Cox. She was united in marriage to Elbert “Al” Hoskinson on March 14, 1948, in Gladwin.
Jean was a sweet, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved being surrounded by family. She especially found great joy in visits from her great-grandchildren.
Jean is survived by her children, Karen and David Wierengo of Spokane, Washington, Randall “Randy” and Linda Hoskinson of Kettering, Ohio and Debbie and Roger Kruger of Gladwin; seven grandchildren Jonathan Wierengo, Christina Wierengo Barth, David Hoskinson, Adam Hoskinson, Sarah Hoskinson Ingram, Chad Beaver and Matthew Beaver. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 63 years, Jean was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Margaret Shobe, Vondola “Von” Stephens, Wilma Collet and Marjorie “Margie” Hobson, as well as son-in-law, Michael Beaver.
Visitation will be held at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan on Saturday, December 8, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following. Pastor David Mead will officiate with inurnment at McClure Cemetery.
