Stephen M. Lewis, 70, of Gladwin, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. He was born on December 23, 1952, to Bernard and Marie Lewis in Flint. Stephen's life was marked by academic excellence, a lasting love story, a successful career, and a deep commitment to family and faith.

A distinguished graduate, Stephen earned the title of valedictorian at Holy Rosary Catholic School in Flint. During his college years, he was united with Judith Fairchild, and on July 26, 1975, they began a beautiful journey as husband and wife. Stephen graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Michigan, remaining a devoted fan of the Michigan Wolverines Football team throughout his life.

A talented Software Engineer, Stephen contributed his skills to various companies, including Wolohan Lumber Co. and K Mart. He later retired from computer consulting at Best Computing. His professional journey was complemented by a love for golfing, playing cards, and exploring new places through travel.

In 2017, Stephen and Judy retired to Gladwin, where they settled by the water, enjoying the tranquility of their surroundings. Stephen was known for his kindness, honesty, and unwavering dependability. A devoted and faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, his love for his family was his cornerstone, especially his grandchildren.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Judith Lewis; children: Scott (Lorna) Lewis and Stephanie Lewis; foster child: Anthony Reed; grandchildren: Vanessa and Nathalie; brother: Philip (Olivia) Lewis; sisters: Barbara (Michael) Goodhue and Kathleen Hough. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Robert Lewis and Matthew Lewis.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate Stephen's life will be conducted on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gladwin. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. The compassionate arrangements are entrusted to Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home.
