Sofia Eloff, 84, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away Monday, October 28, 2019 in Midland. She was born on October 23, 1935 the daughter of Daniel and Lena (Lovatsis) Evanoff in Kastira, Greece. Sofia received her Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan. She worked as a director for the Garden City Library until her retirement. She married Dimitre “Jim” Eloff on October 23, 1955 in Detroit. They moved to Gladwin 29 years ago, previously residing in Dearborn Heights. She is survived by her husband Dimitre “Jim”; children: Carol (Michael) Kukan of Livonia; Jeanne Eloff of Westland and Daniel (Ruth) Eloff of Livonia. Her children blessed her with four wonderful grandchildren: Eric, Mekie (James), Maria and Jimmy. Sofia also has a brother John (Ruth) Evanoff of Chicago and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Chris. Her body has been donated to the University of Michigan per her wishes.
