Shirley Frick

Shirley Rebecca Frick, 89, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024. She was born on December 19, 1934, in Standish, to Orval Castle and Madonna (Fick) Castle. On March 13, 1954, she was united in marriage to Wesley R. Frick. They enjoyed a happy married life together for over 70 years.

Shirley worked for Dairy Queen in Pontiac while raising her children. When she moved to Gladwin with her husband in 1981, Shirley and Wesley set up at flea markets and sold Wesley's wood crafts for a few years. Later, she began working at McDonald's in Gladwin for many years. Shirley spent the last few years loving the Detroit Tigers, with Shirley and Wesley watching every game together. She loved her family and was devoted to her husband. After 70 years together, Wesley passed away on March 28, 2024. She missed him every day, and now they are together again.

She is survived by her children: Jill (Jim) George, Jodee (Tom Sr.) Betts, Joel Frick, Johanna Tuttle, Justine (David) Leese, and Jannel (Jeff) Carrier. She will be deeply missed by her numerous grandchildren: Jennifer, Jerrilyn, Tommy, Michael, Amanda, Jessica, Miranda, Sara, Darrel, Jamie, Stephanie, Heather, Krystal, Jeff Jr., Jandy, and Jeanie. She is also survived by her siblings: George (Barb) Castle and Orville (Margie) Castle.

She is preceded in death by her husband; sons: Jonathan Frick and "J.L.F."; parents: Orval and Madonna Castle; in-laws: Ellis and Effie Frick; son-in-law: Dean Tuttle; grandson: James Frick; and siblings: Myrna, Clyde, Sharon, and Beverly.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, 4:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
