Sarah "Sally" Abbotts

Sarah “Sally” Abbotts, 88, of Beaverton, Michigan passed away at University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor, Michigan on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. She was born in Pontiac, Michigan on November 1, 1929 the daughter of Arnold & Muriel (Johnstone) Stewart. On August 4, 1951 she married James Abbotts in Covington, Kentucky. They celebrated 51 wonderful years together before he predeceased her in 2002. She had lived in Gladwin County since 1971, previously residing in Milford, Michigan. She was employed with Agins Five and Dime Store and she also served as secretary for Beaverton First Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted Christian and she was a very involved member of the Beaverton First Presbyterian Church. She belonged to the First Presbyterian Woman’s Association and also the church Choir and Chimes. She will be remembered by her 3 sons: Dave (Tammy) Abbotts of Hartland, MI; Ric (Mary Ellen) Abbotts of Beaverton; Scott (Darlene) Abbotts of Illinois. Her children blessed her with 5 beautiful grandchildren: Megan, Lance, Christopher, Matthew and Brady; 3 precious great grandchildren: Owen, Sydney and Isla. She will be dearly missed by her brother: Don (Jean) Stewart of Alpena; sister: Diane (Richard) Dewling of Bear Lake and several nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband: Jim Abbotts and her parents: Arnold & Murial Stewart. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be conducted on Saturday, November 10, 2018, 11:00 A.M., with a gathering beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Beaverton First Presbyterian Church, Beaverton, Michigan with a luncheon to follow.  Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be used according to the wishes of the family.
