Ronald David McDonald, 75, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2019, at Saginaw Covenant Hospital. He was born on December 31, 1943, the son of Francis & Bernice (Millard) McDonald in Redford. He was a veteran of the United States Army and National Guard, proudly serving his country during Vietnam Era. On December 8, 1973, he was united in marriage to his true love Mary Rodabaugh in Farwell. He was employed as a CNC Operator for Simpson Industries in Gladwin until 1998, and retired from East Jordan Plastics in 2008. In his spare time he was an avid woodworker. Many of us can still see his work on display located outside and inside the church located on M 61. He also enjoyed hobbies such as billiard and chess. He was always there for others. His friends would be the first to tell you, Ron would be the first to give you the shirt off his back. Through all of life’s journey he was more proud for his love of his family, being a devoted husband, father & grandfather.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 45 years: Mary McDonald of Gladwin; 3 daughters: Jane (Brian) Sisley of Orlando, FL, Judy (fiancé: Mike) McDonald of Orlando, FL, Jen (Matt) Anderson of Rio Rico, AZ; son: David (Sarah) McDonald of Midland. His children blessed him with 9 grandchildren: Elizabeth, Timothy & Logan Sisley, Malia, Makayla & Maxwell Anderson, Peyton Shepardson, Dylan & Veronica McDonald. He is also survived by 2 sisters: Earlene Schreiner & Joyce (Roger) Elkins; brother: Paul McDonald; along with several nieces & nephews.
