Robert Plude

July 30, 1950 — September 11, 2022

Robert Edward Plude, age 72, passed away surrounded by many of his devoted family members on September 11, 2022. He was born July 30, 1950, the son of Edward and Lucille (Cameron) Plude. He is survived by six sisters: Patricia Munger, Denise Edgar, Karen Ritchie, Lori Stout, Marilea Plude, and Rita Plude; and two brothers: Jim Plude and Terry Plude. He was predeceased by his parents and one infant sister, Carol Louise. He attended Gladwin High School and graduated in 1968. November 2, 1968, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Laura Jean Brewer. They became parents to two wonderful daughters, Jeri Storms and Cynthia (Cyndi) Palmer and adopted a few others along the way. He was the beloved Grandpa to 12 grandchildren, great-grandpa to 17 children, and great-great-grandpa to two. His legacy lives on in each of them. Bob was a talented heavy equipment operator for most of his life, working in underground construction, in the oil fields, and with various local companies. He finished his career with the City of Beaverton as head of the wastewater department and carried the certifications needed for their water department before his retirement in 2015. He was happy to donate his time and equipment to help others. His greatest joy was creating outdoor fun areas for the grandchildren. He taught them how to build forts, a tree house, and created a go-kart track that wandered all over the property. He built a sledding hill and loved to listen to the laughter and screams as they played. He always kept such a good outlook and will be remembered by many as the man who was always “above ground and happy” even throughout his final days.
