Robert Gallert

Robert “Bob” P. Gallert of Gladwin, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023. He was born on December 30, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan, to his parents, Frida and Paul Gallert.

Bob's life was marked by his dedication to serving his country in the United States Air Force.  Beyond his military service, Bob had a deep passion and talent for carpentry, woodworking, and stained glass. He relished the simple joys in living up north and on the lake, spending time with family, and traveling.

Bob leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frida and Paul, and his sister, Viola Gaskill. He is survived by his loving wife Genevieve August Gallert, daughters, Suzan Hill, of Seal Beach, California and Nancy Deising, of Marysville, and five step-daughters. He was cherished by five grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren. Bob is also survived by his sibling: Hilde Convery, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A special thanks to his neighbors Phil and Sherri, Jim and Sue, and Mary, for helping him and his wife in their time of need.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Christian Memorial Garden West Cemetery in the Chapel, 521 E. Hamlin Road, Rochester Hills, MI 48307, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.  Immediately following, the interment at the Honor Mausoleum will take place.   A family and friends gathering will take place at Griffin Claw Brewing Company - Rochester Hills, 2265 Crooks Road, Rochester Hills, MI 48309 starting at 1:00pm.
