Richard Ellis

Richard (Dick) C. Ellis, age 78, of Gladwin, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025. He was born on October 8, 1946, the son of Roger and Aime (Lathrop) Ellis, in Vallejo, CA. On July 2, 1987, Richard married Joyce Black. Together, they shared many years of love and cherished memories until her passing in 2020.

Richard was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving his country with honor. After his military service, he dedicated 37 years to working as a Construction Cable Splicer before retiring. Even in retirement, Richard stayed active, working as a maintenance man for the apartments in Gladwin.

He enjoyed spending his free time watching NASCAR and Football. Richard took great pride in providing for his family. Most of all, he loved spoiling his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children: Rick Ireland and Shelly King; grandchildren: Levon, Caitlin, Rachelle, Michiel, Brody, Bailey, and Bo; great-grandchildren: Sophie, Becca, River, and Mary; siblings: Joseph Ellis and Mary Linda Ellis, of Washington; and daughter-in-laws: Nicole Maher and Melanie Whitman.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Joyce; sons: John and Jason Maher; parents: Roger and Amy; and brother: Roger Ellis.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
