Richard Carnahan, 83, of Beaverton, Michigan passed away at his home on Monday, November 19, 2018. He was born in Gladwin, Michigan on January 1, 1935, the son of Ray & Frances (Manley) Carnahan. On August 17, 1956 he married his true love, Hope Elouise Yates in Beaverton. They shared 61 wonderful years together before she predeceased in 2017. Richard was employed with Chamber & Sons in Midland, Michigan as a Foreman and then he went to work at Miller’s Poultry & Feed in Loomis until his retirement. He will be remembered as a very kind and generous man who was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need. He had a talent for working with his hands, and combined with his skill at woodworking, he was able to build his own home. He loved to work in his gardens. He enjoyed sports, but he especially loved to watch the Detroit Tigers. His memory will be forever cherished by his son: Rick (Lisa) Carnahan of Nebraska; daughter: Dawn Carnahan of Clare; sons: James (Adele) Carnahan of Gladwin; Joe (Chris) Carnahan of Gladwin; daughter: Lori (Bob) Whitty of Duluth, Minnesota. His children blessed him with 17 beautiful grandchildren; 24 precious great grandchildren; 4 amazing great-great grandchildren. He will be missed by his sister: Mary (Bill) Young of Beaverton. He is preceded in death by his wife: Hope E. Carnahan; parents: Ray & Frances Carnahan; brother: John Carnahan. Funeral Services will be conducted By Pastor Marsh on Saturday, November 24, 2018, 11:00 A.M., with visitation beginning at 10:30 A.M. at the Coleman Assembly of God Church, Coleman, Michigan.
