Richard Hayden Allen, 94, of Gladwin, passed away Monday, August 23 rd , at the Horizon Senior Living Center after a short illness. Richard was born on January 15, 1927, in Detroit, Michigan. After his high school education, he served his country in the United States National Reserves before attending Wayne State University. He was employed at General Motors for 30 years before retiring as a styling division project engineer in May of 1975. In his “retirement” he purchased and renovated farms in Kentucky and Michigan, raising Hereford cattle. He spent his last years on his farm on Buzzell Road in Gladwin. He attended Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Richard was married to the former Freda Anderson from May 20 th , 1950 until her passing on January 15 th , 2013. He married the former Beverly Cady on December 16 th , 2014. In addition to his first wife, Richard was preceded in death by a brother, and daughter Marcella. He is survived by his wife Beverly, daughter Glenna Jo Blake, grandson Michael Abbott, and many step-children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Allen on Friday, August 27, 2021, 2:00 P.M. at the Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.
