Phillip “Phil” Mead, 56, of Sun Praire, Wisconsin, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, February 19, 2021, following a brief illness. He was born on January 22, 1965, the son of William and Patricia (Treat) Mead in Gladwin. He was a salesman for Anca Inc. in Wixom. Phil was a beloved partner, father, brother, and uncle. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Phil was a kind hearted man who loved his family and friends. He brought life and laughter to every gathering he stepped into. Phil was a gifted athlete in multiple sports during his years at Gladwin High School. He will especially be remembered by teammates for His 5 touchdown game in Pinconning in the early 1980’s. Phil was an accomplished musician, vocalist, and song writer playing in a variety of bands and performing music much of his adult life.
Left to cherish his memory are his partner: Carolyn Schnickels of Phoenix, Arizona; sons: Jack Mead and Henry Mead of Bradley, Illinois; siblings: Chris Buschlen of Essexville, Michigan, Greg Mead of Bend, Oregon, Dave (Beulah) Mead of Gladwin, John Mead of Palm Springs, California, Amy Mead of Durham, North Carolina, Paul (Carrie) Mead of Gig Harbor, Washington, Annette (Dave) Roggow of Gladwin, Pete (Betta) Mead of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Chris Pierce of West Branch, Michigan; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and infant son: Benjamin.
Memorial Services for Phil will be conducted by Pastor Dave Mead on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at Grace Christian Church, Gladwin. The family will receive friends, on Monday, February 22, 2021, from 4-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin.
