Pat Whitney

Pansy Blossom Griffin Whitney, “Pat Whitney” 90, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away at home on Saturday, June 23, 2018. She was born on January 5, 1928, the daughter of Arthur & Edna (Barlow) Griffin in Detroit, Michigan. She was the youngest of 6 siblings. As a teen the family moved to Saginaw, Michigan from Harrison, Michigan before settling in Gladwin, Michigan. That is where she met and married George Henry Whitney on December 1, 1946, and where she loved and raised her family for the next 71 years. She was a very loving, caring, honest person to all she came across. She was very active in the small country school (Chappel Dam) where her children attended, and the country community. She loved people of all ages. She enjoyed helping with 4-H as one of the leaders, and some of the things she liked very much were: cooking, sewing, gardening, camping and fishing. She was loved by her entire neighborhood community, and will never be forgotten. Her first priority in life was serving her God and living a Christ focused life. The family is happy to share she is celebrating in heaven with our Father God in her new body with family and friends that went before her. Her memory will be treasured by her husband: George Whitney Sr. of Gladwin; daughters: Rhoda Whitney Townsend; Bonnie Whitney MacAlmon; son: George Whitney Jr. She was blessed with 8 beautiful grandchildren (1 gone before her); 18 wonderful great grandchildren (1 gone before her); 4 precious great-great grandchildren. Waiting to receive her in her heavenly home is her grandson: Travis Townsend; great granddaughter: Heather Roberts; parents: Arthur & Edna Griffin; siblings: Gertrude Griffin Linton; Arnold Griffin; Vernice Griffin Harris; Arthur Griffin Jr. and Doris Griffin Dove. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Brad Withrow on Friday, June 29, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at the Assembly of God Church, Gladwin, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 3-8:00 P.M. and Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 5-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan.
