Olan "Jerry" G. Yager

Olan “Jerry” Yager, 87, of Gladwin, formerly of Beaverton, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. He was born on November 30, 1930, the son of Percy “Clare” & Margueritte (Burr) Yager in Beaverton. He was veteran of the United States Marine Corps, proudly serving his country during the Korean Conflict. On October 25, 1951, he was united in marriage to Arlene Sharp in Beaverton. They were married 62 wonderful years until she preceded him in death in 2013. He was a Real Estate Developer until his retirement, and was always teased for having owned most of Gladwin County at one time or another. Jerry was very involved in his community, he was a member of the Beaverton Lions Club, Order of Masonic Hall in Beaverton, Director of the Beaverton Industrial Development Commission, and served on the Gladwin Hospital Board and Mid Michigan Community College Board. In his younger days, Jerry enjoyed various hobbies, among them included, hunting, fishing, golfing and traveling. After retirement he enjoyed wintering in Leesburg, Florida. Left to cherish his memory are his children; daughter: Roberta “Berta” (Dan) Kellan of Midland and Leesburg, FL; son: Robert “Bob” (Sheila) Yager of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren: Adam Frederick , Kyle (Alecia) Frederick, Matt Kellan, Melanie Oliver, Danny Yager (Yosi Calderon), Steve Yager, Tom (Becca) Yager, Derrick (Nicole) Yager, Marc (Amber) Moore, Craig Moore (Heather Athey), Amanda Moore; step grandchildren: Dave (Ann Marie) Kellan, Liz Kellan (Randy Popp), Joe (Kim) Kellan, Will Kellan, Brian (Christie) Posey, Bruce (Celia) Posey. He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; daughter: Janet “Jan” Posey in 2014. Memorial Services will be conducted by Pastor Martin Hodge on September 22, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at the Beaverton Church of the Nazarene followed by a luncheon.
