Nora Ruth Searfoss-Thorpe

Nora Ruth Searfoss-Thorpe, 79, of Beaverton, passed away on July 30, 2023. She was born in Detroit on February 28, 1944, the daughter of Leeland and Ruth (Doherty) Walton. She married Glen Searfoss in November of 1963 and took care of their children: Jerry, Rick, and Glenda together before later divorcing Glen. She was then united in marriage to Charles Thorpe on September 5th, 1998 who later preceded her in death in 2013. After Charles passed away, she reunited with Glen Searfoss. She worked as a home care provider and a caretaker for the State of Michigan and also worked in a sawmill for the Mennonites. She was a lifetime member of the VFW 7303 ladies auxiliary. Nora loved spontaneous trips to the casino with friends and family as well as Elvis Presley.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jerry (Becky) Searfoss, Rick (Bonnie), and Glenda (Jason) Baldridge; stepkids: Jenny and Josh Thorpe; brother: Bill (Pearl) Walton; grandchildren: Krista (Tim), Erica, Teesa, Savanah, Krissy, Miles, Gary (Brandy), Jasmine, Joshua, Mariposa, Angela, Chris and Lydia; great grandchildren: Jonathan, Elora, Jakob, Cruz, Connor, Brennen, Enrique, Niccolo, Isabella, Savannah, Nevaeh, Ke-Mora, Ashley, Josh Jr.,James.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Glen Searfoss; husband: Charles Thorpe; parents: Leeland and Ruth.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023, 1:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin. Visitation will begin at 12:30 P.M. until the time of the service.
