Milford Robert Brueggeman, 89, of Beaverton, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on November 26, 2020. He was born on December 30, 1930 in Gladwin County where he lived most of his life. The son of Otto and Edith (Taylor) Brueggeman, Milford was their fourth child of ten. He is survived by three of his siblings: Eldon Brueggeman, Marjorie Bickhard and Barbara (Robert) Ritchie.
Milford proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. As a conscientious objector, he served as a medic in Germany. Milford recieved the Heartland Veterans Pinning Ceremony before his death.
A very capable and hard working man, Milford's "jack of all trades" qualities led to work as an auto mechanic, salesman, warehouse manager, logger, auto auction/dealership, and electrician. He was competent in carpentry, plumbing & farming, as well. There wasn't much he could not do and was the man you could count on when in need.
Milford was a devout member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church since the age of 10. Milford served his church as a Decon, Elder, Pathfinder Director and was an active and long time member of the Urbandale SDA and Gladwin SDA Churches.
Milford was gentle and patient his entire life. He is best described by his own words, "Life has no meaning until you hold a baby in your arms." Left to cherish his memory are his children: Joyce Pierce, Brenda (Joe) Burgess, Malcolm Brueggeman, Milford Brueggeman, Jauneta Gungl, Brandon Brueggeman, Christina Brueggeman, raised with unconditional love as his own: Colleen (Jake) Willard, and Jeremy Parmalee; 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; his nieces, nephews and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, son: Rodney Brueggeman, and 6 siblings.
Milford spoke of and looked forward to that day when God calls His Son Jesus to go and bring us home for God's family reunion.
Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held on April 25, 2021, 2:00 P.M. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Gladwin. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Homes, Gladwin.
