Merle Edward Picard

Merle Edward Picard passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones in Gladwin, MI on September 10, 2022. He was born September 20, 1936 the son of Melbourne and Sophy (Lipinski) Picard in Belleville, MI. Merle graduated high school from Wynadotte High School in 1953 and then went on to proudly serve the United States Military as a Marine in the reserves. While in the reserves Merle started his appreticeship and began working for his father as a carpenter. Merle was united in marriage to the love of his life Shirley in 1963.  Above all else Merle was a family man, he enjoyed spending time with his wife and kids, and also hunting, fishing, bowling, playing cards, gardening and attending church.

Merle is lovingly remembered by his wife: Shirley of 59 years; sons: Michael Racz; Greg (Helen) Racz; Robbie (Connie) Racz; and David Picard; daugther: Marie (Brian) Patrick; grandchildren: Brittany, Justin, Courtney, Josh, Sean, Melissa and Amber; great-grandchildren: Skylar, Ryden, Shelby, Mathew, Jacob, Cameron, Cayden, Callen, Carson, Cayson, Lillian, Jackie, and Duane.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Melbourne and Sophy; brother: Bill; daughter: Dawn; and grandson: Brandon.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, 1:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. The family will be receiving guests starting at 12:00 P.M. until the time of service. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hall-kokotovichfuneralhome.com
