Mary Lou Thorington

Mary Lou Thorington, 88, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017. She was born in Mt. Morris, Michigan on March 7, 1929 the daughter of William & Mary Ella (Thorne) Guinther. On February 25, 1950, she was united in marriage to Ray Thorington. He predeceased her in 1966. Mary had lived in Gladwin County since 1950, previously residing in Flint, Michigan. After her retirement from factory work at Lako in Gladwin, she became a caregiver and took care of many people throughout Gladwin County. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her sons: William (Catherine) Thorington of Beaverton; David Thorington; Thomas Thorington both of Gladwin; daughter: Janet (Michael) Downing of Beaverton. Her children blessed her with 8 beautiful grandchildren: Ray, Tiffany, Rory, Dan, Amanda, Travis, Whitney and Chad; 8 precious great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; 7 brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Phil Hortop on Monday, October 30, 2017, 11:00 A.M., with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Gladwin Free Methodist Church. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 5-8:00 P.M.  at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home Gladwin. She will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery, Gladwin, Michigan.
