Lyle Mahaffy

Lyle Mahaffy, age 84, of Gladwin, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, in Summerfield, Florida. Born on October 19, 1939, to Basil and Neva Mahaffy in Marlette.

Lyle was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Ruth Ann Mahaffy. His professional journey included working for Chevrolet in Flint and later with Creative Foam in Fenton, where he contributed his skills until his retirement. In his leisure time, Lyle found joy in various activities, from spending winters in Florida to discovering a passion for horseshoes. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and hunter. Lyle's sense of community thrived at Sugar Springs, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of friends, especially during his morning coffee gatherings at Larry's.

Known for his fun-loving nature, Lyle embraced life with a zest for enjoyment. He loved spending quality time with family, and he proudly assumed the role of the self-proclaimed family supervisor. Lyle's warm presence and cheerful spirit made him a beloved figure among those fortunate to know him.

Lyle is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Mahaffy; children, Steve (Terri) Mahaffy and Michael (Ann) Mahaffy; grandchildren, Megan (Brian), Christopher, Samantha (Peter), Brianna and Morgan; great-grandchildren, Kylie and Grayson; and sisters, Carole Wallen and Sheila Roach. He is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Debbie Mahaffy.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, January 20, 2024, 11:00 A.M, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Gladwin. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 4-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. Lyle will be laid to rest at Butman Township Cemetery, Gladwin.
