Louis "Louie" Edgar

Louis “Louie” Victor Edgar, 73, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at the McLaren Bay Special Care Hospital, in Bay City, Michigan. He was born on April 18, 1945, in Gladwin, Michigan, the son of Roger and Edith (Pero) Edgar of Gladwin. He graduated from Gladwin High School in 1965 and proudly served our country in the United States Army. On August 16, 1969 he was united in marriage to Cheryl Lynn Hibbert, in Gladwin. Louie was an Ironworker with Local #25 out of Detroit, Michigan for 30 years. After his retirement he continued working with his son Jeremy Edgar at Edgar Painting Company. He was a very hard-working man who enjoyed spending time with his family and doing anything outdoors. He was an avid animal lover and enjoyed nature. He was preceded in death by his parents Roger & Edith Edgar, and sisters, Marie Hummel of Mt. Morris, MI, Katherine Jones of Gladwin, MI, Jean Willis of Gaylord, MI, and brothers Anthony Edgar of Gladwin, MI, James Edgar of Bellaire, MI. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Cheryl Edgar and his two sons Louie L. Edgar of Grand Rapids, MI and Jeremy & Heather (Orvis) Edgar of Gladwin, MI. Also surviving is their 6 grandchildren, Brianna, Jacob, Austin, Olivia, Ethan & Carina. Surviving brothers & sisters, John & Catherine Edgar of Tennessee, Charles & Mary Edgar of West Virginia, Dorothy Willis of Gaylord, Martin & Sherri Edgar of Gladwin/ Florida, Cecilia White of Gladwin, Theresa & Chris Abbott of Gaylord, Roger Edgar of Gladwin, Lawrence Edgar of Tennessee, Joseph Edgar of Gladwin, Aggie & Terry Mackie of Gladwin and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held of Friday, April 5, 2019, at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home Gladwin, Michigan, from 4:30-8:00 P.M. Private Family services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. with military honors.
