Lorna J. Barre, age 88, of Gladwin, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024. She was born on February 7, 1936, in Pinconning, MI, to Lawrence and Myrtle (Albach) Gillette. In 1953, Lorna married the love of her life, Theodore Barre, and they shared many cherished years together until his passing in 2018.
Lorna was a dedicated employee at A & P Grocery in Midland, serving as a baker and manager for many years. She had a passion for crafts, often spending time knitting or creating porcelain dolls. Lorna also enjoyed playing the ukulele and had a deep love for animals, especially all of her pets she has had over the years.
She is survived by her children: Veronica Barre-Jacobsen, Larry (Kathy) Barre, and Joe (Michelle) Barre; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister, Esther Doering.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Theodore; her parents: Lawrence and Myrtle; and sisters: Sally, Sue, Judy, and Barb.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Gladwin, with visitation beginning at 9:30 A.M.
