Leo Clyde Sheets

Leo Clyde Sheets, 91, of Beaverton, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Medilodge Clare, Michigan. He was born the son of Dennis & Eva (Harliss) Sheets on February 25, 1927, in Lincoln, West Virginia. He proudly served his county in the United States Army during World War II from November 1945 to September 1947. On May 5, 1962, he was united in marriage to Leona Swinson in Gladwin, Michigan. She preceded him in death in 1990. He was employed as a welder and a mechanic for Young’s Garage in Gladwin and Brown Machine in Beaverton. He is survived by his 3 sons: Alfred (Jeanette) Wray of Beaverton; Bill (Shelly) Sheets of Harrison; Randy (Maureen) Sheets of Gulf Port, Mississippi; 2 daughters: Fern Truitt of Gaithersburg, Maryland; Darlene Bierd of Onekama, Michigan; many grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister: Marge Searsaw of Gladwin; several nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife: Leona; parents; son: Allan Sheets; several brothers & sisters. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
