Lenard (Buck) Lee Govitz went to Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on November 22, 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years: Janice (Fassett), four sons: Ty (Tammy) Govitz, Brian (Pam) Govitz, Scott (Debbie) Govitz and Randy (Lynn) Govitz all from Beaverton, grandsons: Jared (Desiree) Govitz of Farwell, Mark (Michelle) Govitz, Zachary (Alexandria) Govitz and Jacob Govitz all of Beaverton; great grandchildren, Noah, Elizabeth and Finn, as well as several siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Elizabeth Govitz, and daughter-in-law Debbie Govitz.
Lenard retired from Buick and enjoyed over 30 years of retirement. In his retirement, he and Janice traveled the US visiting all the western states including Alaska. They enjoyed camping with friends and sitting around the campfire. He loved hometown sports, telling stories, and his family. Whether it was about growing up in Beaverton, fishing, or working at Buick, he always had a story or five to share. He was a familiar face at high school sporting events and enjoyed cheering on the Beavers. A devoted Christian, he worshiped at the Gladwin Assembly of God with Pastor Withrow and liked Thursday men’s Bible studies with Pastor Hodge.
Lenard was most passionate about his faith. There was not a single person he was afraid to share the story of how his faith changed his life.
A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Assembly of God Church in Gladwin. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
