Larry Raymond Goedecke Sr. passed away on the morning of August 5, 2023, in Midland, Michigan, at the age of 75.
He was born in Tawas City, Michigan, on February 15, 1948, to Harold George Goedecke and Florence Elizabeth Goedecke, née Mowbray. He married Jeanne Lynn Kuch on July 31, 1971, at Zion Lutheran Church in Beaver Township. They lived for a short time in Auburn and Tawas, before settling in Beaverton, where they lived for nearly 40 years and raised their five children. Larry worked for General Motors at Grey Iron Foundry in Saginaw, retiring in 1995. He spent his retirement enjoying time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow to have children of their own. He was very proud of his family and will be greatly missed.
Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jeanne; his children, Clara (Scott) Harrand of Midland, Larry Goedecke Jr. of Sault Ste. Marie, Susan (Patrick) Budzinski of Beaverton, Jennifer (Román) Lorea of Oscoda, and Mary Morgan of Tawas City; his grandchildren, Audrey (Cody) Beck, Emmanuel Harrand, Todd Harrand, Margaret Harrand, Blake Kozuch, Charlie (RJ) Heritier, Elizabeth Budzinski, Alexis Budzinski, and Will Morgan; five great grandchildren and two more on the way; his sisters, Carolyn Bunting and Darla Heckman; sisters-in-law, Nancy LaDrig, Joyce Thacker, Joan (Don) Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Harold and Letson; his sisters, Louella, Sallie Ann, Margaret, and Ella May; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Clara Kuch; brother-in-law, Bill Kuch; sister-in-law, Mary (Terry) Pennell; and daughter-in-law, Becky Goedecke.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sanford. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 7, 2023, from 4-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton and on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
