Larry DeHart

October 29, 1947 — April 20, 2025

Larry Russell DeHart, age 77, of Gladwin passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025. He was born on October 29, 1947, the son of Russell and Vera (Snyder) DeHart in Crystal, MI. Larry was employed as a barber for 57 years, owning Larry's Barber Salon in Gladwin since 1982. On June 15, 1968, he married the love of his life, Janet Sue Austin. Together, they shared many cherished memories. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2009. 

Larry loved to hunt whitetail deer in Gladwin County. He was a lifetime member of the Gladwin Masonic Lodge #397—where he was twice Past Master. He could often be found on the golf course, playing in several leagues with his friend Keith Seltz.

He is survived by his children: Shawn (Laura) DeHart and Andrea DeHart; grandchildren: Colin and Nathan; special friend: Carolyn Henning; along with several nieces and nephews.

He is also preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Carl and Faye Austin of Gladwin, his sister Betty Weber and brother Jack DeHart.

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin. A Masonic service will take place at 6:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation to the Gladwin County Animal Shelter.
