Kathleen Sue Stickney passed away in Midland on September 28th after a year long battle with stage 4 cancer. She was born on April 17th, 1960 in West Branch, Michigan and grew up in Gladwin and raised her children in Midland. Kathleen was a florist at Johnson's Flowers in Midland for many years. She had a green thumb and a passion for gardening. She was a proud grandmother, mom, and sister.
She was preceded by her mother and father, Dorothy Lee Oakley and Horace Clinton Stickney Jr and her nephew James, as well as her grand fur babies Odie and Gru.
She is survived by her daughters, Nicole Woods and her fiancé Ryan and Angela Sambrook and her partner Keith, her former husband Frank Sambrook, her sisters Colleen Eddy-Stickney, Lois Stickney, and Brenda Stickney, her grandchildren Gabriel and his fiancé Aurora, Lily, Banner, and Lavender, her neices and nephews Denny, Dixie, Joseph, Christopher and his wife Nicole, Katherine and her husband Heath, Elizabeth and her partner Martin, Taylor and her partner Eric, Jordan, and Sheanna, her rescued cat Two Face, as well as her best friends Jennifer Clark and Dawn Bartos.
A memorial will be held at Stranded Yarn and Coffee Shop, 132 Ashman Circle, Midland, on Sunday October 8th from 2pm to 6pm. If you are considering flowers, Kathy's favorite flowers were daisies.
