Kate Thern, 82, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away at her home on Friday, December 28, 2018. She was born on March 6, 1936, the daughter of Ray & Jane Sanders in Virginia. She was united in marriage to James Thern on January 10, 1964 in Monaville, West Virginia. She was employed for General Motors in Warren as an assembly worker, until her retirement. Kate has lived the past 7 years in Gladwin County, previously residing in Sterling Heights, Michigan. She was a member of the New Life Apostolic Church in Standish. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years: son: Franklin (Sherry) Mullins of Gladwin. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Randy, Cody and Mandy: adorable great-grandchildren: Aiden, Brianna, Tyler and Sofia. She is preceded in death by her brothers: Paul, Junior and Dan, along with sisters: Steliva Gilbert and Ruby Sanders. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor McCool on January 3, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan. A gathering will begin at 1:30 P.M. at the cemetery.
