Joyce Maya, 82 of Gladwin, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, June 6, 2020. Joyce was born the daughter of Carl and Jessie (Hunter) Dahlke on July 14, 1937 in Detroit. Joyce was a hard working women who spent her early years working for Ford Motor Company. She found a love working with children, and Joyce would become a school bus driver for Centerline Community Schools until her retirement. Joyce loved and cherished spending time with her family. In February, 2006 Joyce was united in marriage to Frank Maya.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 14 years: Frank Maya of Gladwin; 6 children: Janice, Billy, Denise, Kenny, Sherry, and Constance. Her children blessed her with 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter. She is also survived by Frank’s children: Dene and Marcos, along with several other step children, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her first husband: William Brashaw; parents; son: Duane; and grandson: Joshua.
