Joseph Thomas Martonosi Sr. “Joe”, 97, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 3, 2022. He was born on March 3, 1925. He lived his entire life in Gladwin. He graduated from Gladwin High School in 1943. He married Juanita Freeman from Beaverton in 1947. He worked for Sun Oil Company from 1947-1969. He also worked at the Gladwin Post Office from 1969 and retired in 1985. He loved sports, deer hunting, ice fishing, football, baseball and has lots of trophies for bowling and horse shoes (with his buddy, Arden.) He loved to chat with people. He had a dozen jokes for any subject you mentioned. His lifetime hobby and passion was his beautiful lawn and orchard which he maintained until 2018. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church his entire life.
He is survived by his daughter: Jo-Ann (Ted) Long and son: Joe (Ellen) Jr. “Jake”, grandchildren: Joel (Kendra) Raub, Lyric Raub and Joe Martonosi III and great grandchildren: Dylan Raub, Chloe Raub, and Joe Martonosi IV “Seph” and lots of niece and nephews and many friends and fur buddy “Yogi” he loved them all so much.
Preceding him in death are his parents Leo and Anna Martonosi, wife Juanita, and his daughter Mary Moore, and all of his siblings, brothers: John, Lewis, Leo, and Albert, sisters: Erma Keen and Ethel Govitz.

Funeral Mass will be conducted by Fr. Marcel Portelli on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gladwin. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022, from 5-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin and on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. He will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Gladwin. In lieu of cut flowers he preferred perennial plants, shrubs, and trees, etc. at the funeral home that live a long time in his memory.
