John Arthur Stansfield, 80, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away with his loving wife by his side on Friday, June 29, 2018. He was born in Goodrich, Michigan on October 7, 1937 to Henry & Elizabeth (Morris) Stansfield. John was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. On July 16, 1966 he was united in marriage to his true love, Betty Bridges in Montrose, Michigan and they shared nearly 52 wonderful years together. He was employed as a millwright for General Motors in Flint and then went to work in Lansing for GM, retiring in 1992 after 30 years of service. He moved to Gladwin in 1992, previously residing in Perry, Michigan. After his retirement with GM, he began working for DeShano Contruction in Gladwin. He was a lifetime member of the Montrose and Gladwin Masonic Lodge, earning the honor of Mason of the Year in 2016. His memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife, Betty Stansfield of Gladwin; 4 daughters: Robin (Claire) Hippensteele of O’Fallon, Missouri; Jackie (Jim) Madden of St. Peters, Missouri; Tracy(Bud) Howell of Beaverton; Renai (Shannon) Day of Gladwin. His children blessed him with 5 beautiful grandchildren: Cory, Jennie (Dan), Saharah, Chelsea and Ryan; 4 precious great grandchildren: Bentley, Addilynn, Raegan and Weston. He will be dearly missed by his only sister: Sue Andres. He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother: Robert Stansfield. A Masonic Service will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at the Gladwin Masonic Lodge. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan.
