John E. Bauman, age 81, of Gladwin, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. He was born on November 24, 1942, in Wyandotte, MI, to Julius and Beatrice (Snider) Bauman. John dedicated his career to public service as a Police Officer for the City of Southgate, retiring as a Lieutenant after many years of service. After his retirement, he went on to work for the Gladwin County Transit. John was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and a true sports enthusiast. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing, finding joy in the great outdoors.
He is survived by his soulmate, Arlene; his son: Robert (Jennifer) Bauman; daughter: Sandra (Steve) Caldwell; grandchildren: Nicholas, Monica, Celia, Mitchell, Steve Jr., and Sydney; and great-grandchildren: Easton, Steven III, and Lucian. He is also survived by his brothers: Larry (Juliette) Bauman and Alan (Susan) Bauman.
John is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert.
