Jennie J. Howey

July 20, 1931 — January 15, 2021

Jennie J. Howey, 89, of Schertz, Texas, formerly of Gladwin, passed away on January 15, 2021, at Edenhill Community in Texas. She was born on July 20, 1931, the daughter of Waldo and Laura (Hayward) Kelley in Gladwin. She was united in marriage to her true love Charles Howey on April 25, 1949, in Flint. He preceded her in death in 2002. She was employed as a cashier at Walmart for many years until her retirement. Jennie lived in Grand Blanc until 1968, and later moved to Meredith in Clare County where she lived for many years until recently moving to Texas.
Jennie loved her morning coffee.  She also loved to crochet, paint, spend time with her family and take drives to enjoy the scenery especially in the Texas Hill Country.  She was loved and cherished by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her son: Eugene (Judith) Howey of Oscoda; daughters: Dawn Howey of Missouri, Melody (Jerry) Gregory of Nebraska, and Cynthia (Brian) Martin of Schertz, Texas; 16 grandchildren; along with several great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Charles; sons: Gary, Herbert, and Anthony; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Visitation will be on February 11, 2021 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home Gladwin, Michigan.  A service will follow at  Skeels Cemetery (Sherman Twp.) in Gladwin. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association @ https://act.alz.org.
