Janet Rudy, 67, of Gladwin passed away on July 21, 2023, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born on November 24, 1955, the daughter of John and Maggie (VanHorn) Swanstra. She was united in marriage to August Rudy on November 7, 1987. He preceded her in death. Janet was patient, kind and caring. She loved her family and socializing with those around her. Janet enjoyed shopping, watching Hallmark movies, doing crafts, playing bingo, and bowling on the WII.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jamie Schmidt and Justen (Mark) Murray; stepdaughter, Shawn (Chris) Neville; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, William (Renee) Swanstra; sisters, Nancy Mielke, Linda (Joe) Warner and Darla Hahn; along with several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, August Rudy; her sister, Pamela Swanstra; step son, Jason Rudy; and brother-in-laws, Larry Mielke and Clifford Hahn.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at the Gladwin Free Methodist Church with Pastor Phil Hortop officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial donations may be offered to Gladwin Free Methodist Church or New Dawn Shelter.
