Janet Carlson

Janet May Carlson, 85, of Gladwin, passed away after a 14 year battle with Alzheimer’s peacefully in her sleep with her husband by her side on Thursday, February 23, 2023. She was born on January 15, 1938, the daughter of Leonard and Beatrice (Goll) McCue in Sheboygen Falls, Wisconsin. She married her husband Ernest Carlson and together shared 63 years of marriage. Her hobbies included puzzles, reading, sewing, crafts, crocheting and playing any kind of games.  She had a wonderful sense of humor along with a kind heart.  She loved walking with her friends at Blue Lake, baking, gardening. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother.  She loved her church and her quilting group at Christ the King Lutheran Church

She is survived by her husband: Ernest Carlson; children: Sandra (Bill) Bowman, Jeanne (Eric) Plater; grandchildren: Joey (Kath), Adam (Jen), Kayla (Cody), Kara, Melissa (Jon), Shelby (Josh), and Michael; great grandchildren: Tyler, Ava, Mackenzie, Kaylee, Leena, and Scarlett; sister: Sandra (Robert) Peterson; sister in-law: Shirley Ponte; brother in-law: Jack Schroeder. A special thank you to her caregiver for 5 years: Melissa Lowery and her daughters: Ashley, Amanda, and Taylor, along with her daughter-in-law, Janice Carlson who helped care for her in her earlier stages.

She is preceded in death by her son: Michael Carlson; parents; sister: Charlotte Stevens.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023, 2:30 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023, from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.
