James Walters

James Henry Walters (Jim), 85, of Beaverton, left this world on Saturday, November 11, 2023 in his home surrounded by his family. Jim was born on September 1, 1938 to Charles and Opal (Macklem) Walters.

Jim spent many years working construction, the casino, and retail. He finally retired at the age of 80 from Beaverton Hardware. He was a member of Dale Methodist Church, where he met many new friends who quickly became family.

In his spare time, he enjoyed working in his yard or wood shop. His projects became presents for people he cared for. Jim also enjoyed driving the country side for dining out with special friends, Art and Ralph.

Jim is survived by his daughters Cindy Sisco of Gladwin and Michelle (Steve) Phelps of Beaverton, and two sons Harv Walters (Jim Gorman) of St. Augustine, FL. And Greg Walters of Coleman. Jim also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren with one more on the way. He will be greatly missed by all.

Jim was preceded in death by his frist wife Gladys (Pug) Blades in 1985 after 29 years of marriage. His son Jim who passed in 1990, step-daughter Jennifer Methuin in 2016, and second wife Ruth (Quillet) in 2021 after 31 years. Jim also lost daughter-in-law Tina Walters in January of 2023 and grandson Terry Rodabough in July of 2023.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
