James Sanders, 67, of Gladwin, passed away suddenly, on April 25, 2021, at his home. He was born on May 30, 1953, the son of James and Velva (Collins) Sanders in Kennett, Missouri. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. On August 20, 1977, he was united in marriage to his true love Valerie Corlew in Flint. They were blessed with 43 wonderful years of marriage. he was employed throughout his career as a machine builder. James hobbies were hunting, fishing, and anything to take him outdoors. He enjoyed playing on his tractor, but most of all, loved and adored his family, especially his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife: Valerie Sanders of Gladwin; children: Craig (Melanie) Sanders of Chelsea, Alabama, Kelli (Martin) Schindel of Midland, and Gene Sanders of Mt. Morris; 9 grandchildren: Elana, Evan, Esma, Ori, Beau, Pacie, Parker, Hunter, and Bella. He is also survived by his 2 sisters; 1 brother; and father in-law: Wayne Corlew.
He is preceded in death by his parents and mother in-law: Fern Corlew.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. Visitation will be held on May 3, 2021, from 3-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. He will be laid to rest at Butman Twp. Cemetery, Gladwin.
