James P. Martin Sr., 91, of Beaverton, MI passed away surrounded by his loved ones Sunday, January 30, 2022. He was born March 7, 1930 the son of Thomas and Lena (Persil) Martin in Bronx, New York. On April 10, 1955 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Margaret Weaver in Floral Park of Long Island, New York. James spent his working years as a salesman for Mineola Bicycle and Fitness. Previously residing in Long Island, NY, he spent 21 years in Gladwin County.
Left to cherish his memory are his son: James Martin Jr. of CA; daughter: Sheila Ahlfeld and Rick Campell of Beaverton; grandchildren: Thomas, Jacqueline, James, Robert and Jennifer; great-grandchildren: Jason, Julie, Ava, Desmond, and Elizabeth; and brother: Lawrence Martin.
James is preceded in death by his parents: Thomas and Lena Martin; wife: Margaret; son: Michael; 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 4, 2022, 11:00 A.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022, from 3-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton. He will be laid to rest at Dale Cemetery, Beaverton.
