James "Jim" Jones, 76, of Gladwin, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022. He was born on September 29, 1946, the son of Romeaul & Emily (Fanslow) Jones in Gladwin. In 1965, he married the love of his life: Linda Breault in Gladwin. Together they shared many beautiful memories to go with 57 years of marriage. Jim worked for a few years for Greer Brothers until he and Linda moved to Grass Lake where he worked on a cattle farm for several years. In 1980, they moved back to Gladwin where he retired as Superintendent for Sugar Springs Building and Grounds after 34 years. Jim has always been a farmer at heart and loved his vegetable garden. Some of his other hobbies included woodworking, camping, riding horses, and tractor pulls. Jim loved having family get togethers and preparing the meals on his homemade Big A** Farm Grill.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife: Linda Jones; children: Michelle Jones (Chris Gearhart) and Melissa (Jody) Zelt; grandchildren: Michael, Joshua (Briana) James, Grace, Sarah, and Owen; great grandchildren: Ellie, Brantley, and Barrett; and his sister: Lois Hock. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at www.jdrf.org .
