James D. Hawthorne, 71, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. He was born in Maryland on March 18, 1946, and raised the son John & Dorothy Hawthorne. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, proudly serving during the Vietnam Era. On March 15, 1976, he was united in marriage to Terry Reed in Stewart, Florida. He was employed as a Nurse's Aid at the Gladwin Pines Nursing Home until his retirement. He has lived in Gladwin County for the past 29 years previously residing in Virginia and Burton, Michigan. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 41 years: Terry Hawthorne; daughter: Tina (Mike) Bullard; son: John Thomas (Carla Patricia) Hawthorne; 3 grandchildren: Michael James Lee Bullard; Sasuke Uchiha Sage Hawthorne and James Richard Reaper Hawthorne; sister: Sharon (Martin) Pearson. He is preceded in death by his parents. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan.
