Homer McMahan, 96, of Beaverton, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023. He was born on July 13, 1927, the son of Riley and Bertha (Morris) McMahan in Corning, Arkansas. On July 2, 1966, he was united in marriage to Barbara (Burt) Holmes in Pontiac, MI. She preceded him in death on January 8, 2023. In 1971, they moved to Beaverton where he owned and operated Homer's Carpet Service until his retirement.
He enjoyed living on the water, entertaining and hosting parties any opportunity he had, he was a long-time member of the Gladwin Eagles 3292 where he was a Past President and involved in many activities within the club. He loved bowling, going on trips to Nashville, camping with family and friends, and spending winters in Florida and then Arizona. He was a friend to everyone.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Randy (Denise) Holmes, Peggy Hendricks, Ron Holmes, and Mark McMahan; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife: Barbara; daughter: Christie Machinski; and several brothers and sisters.
