Harvey Peter Olsen, 77, of Beaverton, MI., previously from Royal Oak, passed away December 16, 2020. He was born on December 29, 1942, the son of Henry & Harriett Olsen in Detroit. On Oct 19, 1980 he was united in marriage to Jovita Barber in Royal Oak. Together they shared 40 years of marriage.
Harvey was the retired owner of Designed Landscape, Inc., which he operated for 45 years until his retirement. He was a well accomplished hunter. Harvey traveled all over the USA & Canada on hunting trips. He hunted whitetail deer, mule deer, elk, bear, wild boar, antelope, & alligator. He was particularly proud to rank #14 in the Boone & Crockett for his whitetail deer harvested in Manitoba, Canada.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Jovita Olsen of Beaverton; son: Brian Olsen of Troy; foster son: Sokha Sou of Richmond, VA; stepson: Larry Robinette of Las Vegas, NV; granddaughter: Samantha Olsen; along with 2 great grandchildren & 1 on the way of Bradenton, FL; and sister Karen Olsen. He is preceded in death by his son: Dean Olsen, his parents: Henry & Harriett; 3 brothers: Frank, Robert, and Berger; and sister: MaryAnn Scandiliato.
Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan.
