On March 20, 2022, Gerald (Jerry) M. Hicks, of Beaverton, MI, surrounded by his loved ones, peacefully passed with grace and dignity. Jerry was born on July 13, 1937, in Sherman, MI, to Merwin and Ruth Wilcox Hicks. He deeply loved his family and friends. He was known for his quick wit, kind and helpful spirit, love of hunting and fishing and his easy smile. Jerry and his wife, Sally Ross Hicks, enjoyed 62 years of amazing love, family and countless adventures.
Surviving Jerry, in addition to his beloved wife, Sally, are his pride and joys, his 4 daughters, Julie and husband Matt Bryant, Lori and husband, Scott Nevill, Jane and husband Adam Zdrojewski and joined his daughter Tracy (Jim) Hicks-Doherty in Heaven.
This amazing man left a legacy of love for his grandchildren Eric and Lacy Wesley, Brian Wesley, Zachary and Suzanne Nevill, Chelsea Nevill, Daniel and Stephanie Nevill, Caleb and Heather Nevill, Taylor Sutton and Sonja, Rachel and Benjamin Jorgenson, Reed Doherty, Jessica Zdrojewski and Mike, Jeremy Zdrojewski and Trisha and Benjamin Zdrojewski along with many great grandchildren.
He will be missed by his siblings, Linda (Tom) Burr, Peggy McKimmy, Steve (Linda) Hicks, Dick Miller and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Ruth Ann Miller and brother in law, Tom McKimmy.
Additional loved survivors include Mary Ann and Lewis Dull and Ronna Sawyer. He was preceded in death by David and Irene Ross, Susan Ross and brother-in-law RV Sawyer.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, April 16th from 1 pm to 5 pm at the Beaverton Community Center.
