Gary Neil Wyrick, 90, passed away on Wednesday April 19th, 2023 at the Horizon in Gladwin, MI. Born to Glen and Edyth (Bagnall) Wyrick in August of 1932 in Pontiac, MI.
Gary enjoyed his childhood in Marsyville, MI. before he joined the National Guard while attending Portland Community College. After graduating in 1954 he joined the United States Army where he served in Korea from 1954-1956. Gary recieved an honourable discharge in 1960.
He chose to continue his education by attending the University of Michigan. He graduated with a degree in business administration in 1963. Gary went on to be employed by General Motors Chevrolet in Flint, MI. until his retirement when he moved to Scottville, MI.
Gary married Rose Bennett in March of 1957. They had three children together. He married his second wife, Mona Schmiedeknecht in June of 1984. He married his third wife, Sylvia Svacha in March of 2010.
Gary chose to enjoy life through his many hobbies. He loved to travel the world, as well as learning to pilot small aircraft. He was always ready for a game of golf or pool. He enjoyed music and spending time with his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Judith Sperry, Jill Rhodes- (John) Krchmar, and Joel (Bobbie) Wyrick; step-daughter Angalee Baxter; grandchildren Nichole, Tara, Corey, Kirsten, William, Kirk, Stephanie, Amber, and Jessica; step-grandchildren Ryan, Renell, Raykal, Relean, Morgan, and Kali. Other family includes eight great-grandchildren as well as his sisters Evon Miller and Deanne Shannon.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, wives, and two step sons Timothy and Krieg.
There will be a celebration of life ceremony held August 19th, 2023, in Gladwin. Arrangements are in the care of Hall Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
